The Goal

Growing up we never really threw clothes out. Outside fits became inside fits, then the cloth my mom wiped the kitchen cabinets with. India has been doing circular fashion for decades, we just never had a word for it.

ourFIT is a concept app I built to think through that. Three sides instead of two: people offloading what they’re done with, artists who rework clothes, buyers who want something nobody else has. Two months, drawn in Figma, built with Claude Code, live right below.

12% of the global textile waste is sitting in India. Out of this 9,000-kiloton mess we only recycle 59%, but 0% of that recycled material leaves India. No indie credibility plus no global resale: Indians keep consuming foreign fashion standards while India remains a dumping ground for foreign textile waste.

The Challenge

Most resale apps have two sides, a seller and a buyer. ourFIT has three, and the artists in the middle needed room to show their work without making the app confusing for someone who only wants to sell an old shirt.

The Opportunity: Indians are natural hoarders. We don't throw things away until they crumble away. Could an informal economy of refurbishing benefit here? Set over a truck-art wall and a stack of delivery boxes.
The three sides: the seller sells directly to the buyer or sends items to an artist for upcycling, the artist sells the transformed item to the buyer, and the buyer discovers and buys outfits.

The Result

A working app, drawn in Figma and built with Claude Code in two months. The feed, filters, listings, profiles, haggle chat and upload all work, and it installs on a phone as a PWA.
